R29 & R20 integrated with 3rd party Hartman controls access control

R29 & R20 integrated with 3rd party Hartman controls access control

Using R29 & two R20's integrated with 3rd party Hartman controls access control system, installed by others.
When client adds a new user to 3rd party AC, they scan a new fob on a R20. The R20 generates a random 8 digit code. This code is then matched to the user in the AC system and all is good. User uses fob on R20, door opens and this event is registered in AC system.

Problem: After about 20 users were added, the R20 started recycling the same codes it generated for the previous users, thus causing issues with regestering new fob/users on the Hartman access control system.

Question: How to make the R20 keep generating new and random codes and not recycle old ones still in use?

Thank you,
David

    Dear David:

      Good day !

Thanks for reaching out Akuvox. Please check below.

    1. May I know only the R20 you are using with the 3rd party AC ? How about R29 ?

    2. And May I know what is the firmware version of the devices ?

    3. May I know what role is the R20 ? The reader, who integrated with the 3rd party AC with wiegand port ?

      Or the controller ?

What I mentioned here that is I would like to check the wiring of the system in your scenario.

    4. For the R20 that our devices could be the reader and controller, and in your scenario that is only a reader. What code from the system that the R20 could get is not depends on our devices.

And I confirmed that the R20 has the 5000 users and 25000 cards and 5000 pincodes supported. So please check the 3rd party AC.

    5. For solution that we also provide our cloud that we could use the manager web portal, or the user app to create the temp key and the temp code, which is also a good solution to the random access control system

    Hello,
    Thanks for replying.

I have one R29C-S and two R20A, all with latest firmware as of June 2023. Don't have exact version, as I am not at client site.
Re: #3, We wired the door strike to the relay and also a Wiegand cable connection from the R20 to the access control system. This way the access control gets notification of door open and by which key fob used.

I will double check the connections and process on how the client adds new users/key fobs, will advise.
