We are preparing since weeks for a Project, with 2 buildings, one with 50, other with 60 indoor units Before, it was said, that there is a shared internet connection, but now as 2 week is left for the installation, they have let us know, that there is no shared internet connection, and the use of a 4G modem is not preferred. However, each apartment has its own stable internet connection ( wifi )
The letter with appointment / installation dates etc is already sent to each owner, so its all set ....
Even if we could use a 4G modem, i dont want to depend on a 4G modem because of poor strengt and limited GB ) altouth i could place one, just to do trouble shouting / accessing web page on remote, however it has not to be depended of the 4g connection
is it , somehow possible, that they can receive app message in this situation in which outdoor unit has no internet by just connecting the indoor unit with their own WIFI ?
I can wire the outdoor unit via POE or connect it to 2 wire distributor using the converter, both is possible.
We want to prepare all units before the installation day, so we can finish that day on time.
Based on your description and situation my suggestion is as follows:-
Install a router onsite, even though it is not connected to the Internet, it should still allow the door phone to communicate to the indoor units.
If you connect your LAN/Ethernet cablet cable connected to the router you will then be able to program and setup as needed, especially if you have assigned static IP addresses for the door phone and all the indoor units.
Personally, I would setup all devices with static IP address, document the IP address, MAC ID and their associated SIP No’s for programming and maintenance reference purposes.
I know it is a bit of a process to setup everything with static IP addresses, but I have found it works more reliable, and especially if you want to do certain programming to communicate between certain devices etc.
You most likely will need a 4G router for temporary connection and commissioning at some stage during the setup process.
Without internet connection you cannot receive call on smartphone app.
You could use the SIP number instead of the IP address and it should communicate to other devices if they are all on the same LAN.
I have tested previously that using SIP numbers in the door phone speed dial worked with no internet connection on the bases the devices are all on the same LAN.
My suggestion was to initially ensure the devices would work locally and you could at least commission and setup the system, but not to support smarphone connectivity.
