E12W with Security Relay SR01

E12W with Security Relay SR01

Hello

We have an E12W v2 upgraded to the latest firmware. The device does not support RS485 (we were not aware of this when we recommended this device, many websites display it incorrectly).

The SR01 security relay has been installed according to the information on knowledge base (in an "exceptional way"). We use a separate 12V power supply with - connected to GND on the SR01 and + connected to COM of E12W and NC of E12W connected to +12V power input on SR01. We have checked the wiring many times and we are sure it is correct.

The SR01 is powered up correctly with the green LED flashing and blue LED lit up. Connecting the IN of SR01 shortly with GND will activate the electronic lock correctly (with the green LED flashing quickly).

The E12W has been configured with Security Relay in the web setup pages. There is no 12V power output configuration possible in the web pages for E12W.

Unfortunately we are unable to pair the E12W with the SR01. After hitting the pair button the red LED flashes quickly for a while and then returning to green LED flashing slowly. We have used both the 'Test' button in the E12W web pages (command sent successfully). We have also presented an RF card to the device which is recognized properly and we are greeted with a Welcome message. We hear the relay clicking multiple times in the E12W but the SR01 will not activate at all.

We exported the logs from the E12W and we noticed that it states 'activating security relay with power'. Everything just seems normal and without errors but the SR01 relay will not close

We have rebooted, checked the connections etc but we cannot figure out why the SR01 is not working as expected.

Any suggestions?

Thank you

Could you please take a video of your wiring and test video for us?
Let us help you check where the problem is, and please tell us the firmware version of your E12 too.

    Hello Vergil

The unit is at a remote location. I would be able to take pictures beginning next week.

On the other hand, we have checked the wiring many times and due to the fact that the SR01 is powered up I think it cannot be wired incorrectly. The SR01 must be receiving 12V on the correct pins. The E12W unit itself is powered by POE and it cannot have 12V power output on any pins of the 6 pin connector. Since NO is normally open it cannot be accidentally connected to NO because the SR01 would not receive any power. The only mistake that could be is having COM and NC reversed (we checked, it is not) but even then I am not sure it would make a difference?

    In short:
PSU 12V - (ground) is going directly to power input GND on the SR01 (PSU itself is local to the SR01 unit).

PSU 12V + is going to COM of the E12W 6 pin connector (white wire). NC (dark purple wire) of the E12W 6 pin connector is going to power input +12V on the SR01. The connection between E12W and SR01 is using the brown brown/white pair of a few meters of UTP cable. I don't think this can have an influence on the communication?

The firmware version is 312.30.10.9 as I still have it on my laptop.

Is it possible the problem is in software rather than hardware?

    Best regards

    Hello Vergil

The unit is at a remote location. I would be able to take pictures beginning next week ...

We tested it locally and found that version 312.30.10.9 has a BUG and could not trigger SR01. We have fixed this BUG in version 312.30.10.10.
Please download the upgrade from the following link:
    https://drive.google.com/file/d/ ... lc/view?usp=sharing

Please note that after the upgrade is completed, SR01 needs to be matched again.

I can confirm that after applying firmware 312.30.10.10 the pairing worked instantly and the SR01 is now working properly in combination with the E12W.

Since this was our first Akuvox device (we are used to working with 2N), I have spent hours on trying to figure out the problem before I started suspecting something was going wrong in software...

    Thanks for fixing!

Our E12 device did not come with any QR code. We would like to test the Smartplus application but we don't know how to do so/how to create an account?

    Hi neophil,

If you speak to your distributor, they'll be able to setup an installer account and guides for setting up your device on the Akuvox Cloud.

We bought from a reseller who doesn't seem to be able to help us. We weren't aware of the closed Akuvox ecosystem and our experience so far hasn't been very exciting
